Safe & Sound

  1. If you are into Zen then having a Japanese bamboo flute can help you with your focus. The sounds that the bamboo flute can give could be added to the soothing feeling with the ambiance. shakuhachi flutes!

  2. This song definitely gives me chills! I just wish the notes you gave could have been a little more specified. Are the B's B-flats or are the more like C's as in a C-sharp?
Anyways, this song is great and I am glad there are songs like this here. Especially when this song is going to be in the new Hunger Games movie based on the amazing and a favorite of mine...book.
But I know ot os hard to sometimes figure out the articulation and note arrangement. So good job anyway! : )

    2. That's NOT sheet music!!!

      Delete
    3. Excuse me? Yes this is sheet music, it's just not printable. Ever heard of playing in front of a screen?

      Delete
    4. Technically, this isn't sheet music... sheet music is a form of musical notation using modern music symbols, whereas this is just lyrics with notes. Not to say that this isn't fabulous as well!

      Delete
    5. its good music but without hearing the song you dont know if there are slurs or anything with marking that would be in normal sheet music its still great!

      Delete
    6. if there are not sharps or flats noted, it is a natural note. i have been using this site for music for a while and i find it really easy to play (if you know the song)

      Delete
    7. Last time I checked sheet music had a staff with a time signature and actual notes on it not just lyrics and note names on a page...

      Delete
    8. Last time I checked this has already been acknowledged a million times...

      Delete
    9. I love this song, but this isn't real sheet music! It's just the name of notes! How are we supposed to know how high or low the notes are or how long to hold them, or even I we should slur or not! it's really great but I can't call this actual sheet music

      Delete
    10. Thank you so much!I am a beginner, and I don't know how to read sheet music yet, so this is perfect! I showed this to the other flute players in the beginning band, and they all gawked! All my friends, including my band director are so proud of me! Thanks again!

      Delete
    11. To those people who said that this isnt sheet music, i agree with you but if you know this song, you should be able to know if that specific part needs to slur or not.. Plus somemore you are saying you love the song but you dont even know that parts? Shame on you...

  3. Thanks for posting this.. I have a flute blog to if you can please look at it http://flutemusictomyears.blogspot.com/

  4. This is great! Thanks so much :)

  5. If it is a flat it'll be Bb if it is a sharp it would be B# if it is just B it is just B natural

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It is b natural. I figured out how to play it by listening and playing along with the song, so I am positive oof this.

      Delete
  6. Is it played high, low, or medium???

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Really?? Low high or medium?? Don't you know about octives, ledger lines, or things of that sort?

      Delete
  7. I love this song! THANX! But you needed to be more specific if it was falt or sharp. Its ok though i fighered it out :P

    ReplyDelete
  8. The DDEEEEDB on the second line of the first page is seriously annoying me... I cannot figure out if they are low, medium, or high. My best friend and I both love the Hunger Games, but she loves Taylor Swift too. This is her favorite song and I really want to learn to play this for her. She plays the trumpet and couldn't find the music for it. Can someone that figured it out please help??

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hey, trumpet transposing is easy as pie. You take every note from the flute part and bring it a step up and a octave down. That line is a pain in the rear end, but hopefully this should clear everything up. http://youtu.be/nB7qGYnElQk

      Delete
    2. Its in between high and medium I guess. I kind of experimented and that's what I found works the best.

      Delete
    3. play my ear, it's not that hard. just listen to the original song, then figure it out

  9. i cry :'( every time i hear this song and now i can play it on my flute :D it gives me the chills!!

  12. The "when all those shadows almost killed your light" there's more of a slur of "F# E D in "killed you light" then just "F# D". That's the only thing that really wasn't like the recording, though.

  43. i love this site but a little advice just make sure to add whether its slurred or tongued, which are eighth notes and which aren't, and what octave it is to make it easier, but overall really good job with the music. i really hope you take my advice into consideration :)

  46. uh...these aren't the right notes to safe and sound.tried playing them on my flute but didn't work. and besides,it was tuned. whatever you did,you better come up with the right notes. i shouldn't have come to this web!!! you are terribly mistaken!!!

Nooooooo way. These people are out of their minds. The notes are perfect.

  55. My band teacher would have called this "monkey see, monkey do." If you already know the tune (count) of the music and don't read music well, you can follow the notes -- A, B, C, etc., and play along perfectly with the music, without counting out all those dreaded, dotted eighth notes lol. If you don't already know the tune, then I can see why you would be lost.

    ReplyDelete
  56. this is my absolute favorite song!!! Mostly because it is in the hunger games and because taylor swift sings it!! thanks for posting it! its perfect!
